An Olympic sailing event since 1984, windsurfing continues to grow in popularity worldwide. Windsurfers plane at high speeds and are the fastest monohulls. Windsurfers need considerable upper body strength to control the sail, along with good balance and quick reflexes. Women use the same board as the men, with a slightly smaller sail.
