Caribbean 1500 Rally and Race:

The Caribbean 1500 rally and race leaves Hampton, Virginia in early November. Boats generally arrive in Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands ten days to two weeks later.

The "Fun Race and Cruise," now in its 18th year, is open to all boats, with the recommended minimum size of 40 feet. Smaller boats are considered for eligibility based on boat speed and crew experience. Participants receive extensive briefings on weather, Gulf Stream analysis, landfall approaches, customs and clearances, provisioning hints and more.

In 2007, all boats were given free use of satellite tracking devices as well as en-route communication services. The race website provides positions on a near real-time map. To learn more about the race, or to follow finishes and track yacht positions, stop by their website.
